A keto bar surrounded by chocolate chips and coconut flakes

There are more than 75 different keto friendly protein bars available on the market currently, and surprisingly, nearly a third of them are dairy-free. Of the fifteen or so types I have tried, the Keto Bars™ brand is currently one of my absolute favorites.

If you are interested in finding out why, please read the article in its entirely, and if you are interested in trying them yourself, there is a link at the end that will save you 10% on your order or receive a $5 gift card with your purchase. Let’s dig in.

Macronutrient Ratio

One of the easiest ways to ensure that you are getting the proper ratios of macronutrients required to maintain ketosis, is to consume the proper proportions within each meal or snack. The macros in each Keto Bar aligns extremely well, and only vary slightly between flavors.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Keto Bar for example is 250 calories, and contains 21 g of fat, 8 g of protein and 3 g of net carbs (13 g total carbs – 6 g dietary fiber – 4 g erythritol).

One of the things I like most about these bars are the simple ingredients. The Chocolate Peanut Butter bar for instance contains only peanut butter, chocolate, coconut, Non-GMO erythritol, water, salt, and stevia. No sugar, no fillers, no soy, no dairy, and no artificial ingredients.

Taste & Texture

I had originally purchased the variety pack of these bars on Amazon, and my initial thoughts after eating the first one was how much they remind me of the no-bake cookies my mom used to make when I was a kid. When I went to the Keto Bars website directly, it was apparent that I was not the only one that made this comparison, as that is how they are described by the company itself.

The bars are thick and relatively hardy despite their somewhat small size. They are firm and can be broken into pieces, but they don’t crumble or fall apart if you pack them around in your back pack or lunch box. They can handle a little heat, but unlike a traditional granola bar they will ultimately soften or melt if you were to leave them in your hot car for the day.

Size & Price

According to the packaging, each bar weighs 1.65 oz (47g). I unwrapped and weighed several of the bars and was pleasantly surprised to see that they all weighed at least 1.75 oz.

Single flavor bars come in boxes of 10, while the sampler pack includes 12 bars. Oddly, the sampler pack does not currently include any chocolate covered strawberry bars, presumably because it is a relatively new flavor.

If purchased from Amazon, the price is approximately $3.00 per bar or $1.82 per oz. If purchased directly from the Keto Bars website, the price is approximately $2.50 per bar, or $1.51 per oz, and you can save an additional 10% if you subscribe to having bars sent to you automatically, or you can click here to receive a $5 Gift Card with your order.

If you are like me and consume snack bars somewhat regularly, you may also want to consider joining the Keto Bars Rewards Program. As a member you can receive additional discounts each time you place an order, on your birthday, or by liking or sharing on social media.

Free shipping is available if you have Amazon Prime. To qualify for free shipping on purchases made directly from the Keto Bars website however, you will need to spend at least $40.

Overall Rating

As mentioned in the beginning the Keto Bars brand is currently one of our favorite brands of dairy-free keto protein bars, and I give them a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. They are larger than many of the other bars currently available and are priced reasonably well. They have super simple ingredients and taste great.

Keto bars also make a great dessert or keto bomb alternative. Check out the Keto Bar website here for additional snack ideas and recipes.
